About SPS

The School of Physical Sciences (SPS) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, is dedicated to training scientists and professionals who understand the fundamental principles governing matter, energy, space, and time, as well as those applying mathematical and statistical methods to real-world problems. Our six departments provide comprehensive training in physical sciences and applied mathematics.

With modern physics laboratories, chemistry labs, computational facilities, and expert faculty, SPS students conduct research and education in classical and modern physics, organic and inorganic chemistry, pure and applied mathematics, statistics and data science, educational technology, and information science. Our graduates are leaders in research institutions, technology companies, educational sector, and scientific innovation globally.
