MTS 101 is the cornerstone every 100-level student must navigate. This three-unit powerhouse covers essential topics that form the backbone of virtually every STEM discipline at FUTA. You'll tackle elementary set theory with its notations, terminologies, and operations; master the real number systems from naturals to complex numbers; conquer polynomials and rational expressions using remainder and factor theorems; and develop unshakeable skills in solving inequalities, quadratic equations, and cubic equations. Beyond equations, you'll explore the elegance of sequences and series (arithmetic and geometric progressions), the power of the binomial theorem, and the critical foundation of matrices and determinants—knowledge that directly impacts your performance in advanced mathematics, engineering courses, and computer science applications.
PHY 101 takes you through the fundamental principles governing the physical universe. You'll begin with units and dimensions, ensuring you speak the language of physics with precision. Progress through rectilinear motion and Newton's laws of motion, the holy trinity of mechanics that explains how objects move and interact. Dive into the profound concepts of work, energy, and conservation of energy—principles you'll apply across physics, engineering, and even in understanding real-world phenomena. Explore gravitation's infinite reach through Kepler's laws, investigate the properties of materials through elasticity, Young's Modulus, and Bulk Modulus, and venture into the invisible world of heat, temperature, and elementary thermodynamics. This course isn't just theory—it's the practical foundation for understanding everything from building structures to planetary motion.
CHM 101 is your gateway to understanding matter at the molecular level. You'll begin with atoms, molecules, and structures, learning the electronic configurations that determine an element's personality. Navigate the elegant patterns of the periodic table and understand periodicity like never before. Master chemical equations and stoichiometry—the art and science of balancing chemical reactions. Explore the forces holding matter together through chemical bonding and intermolecular forces. Dive into kinetic theory of matter, understand the deep connections through thermochemistry and Hess's Law, and investigate why reactions happen at different rates through chemical kinetics. Learn about chemical equilibrium, oxidation-reduction reactions, and real-world applications like pH and solubility. You'll even peek into electrochemistry and how cells work—knowledge directly applicable to batteries, corrosion prevention, and industrial chemistry.
But Succeeding at FUTA Goes Beyond the Syllabus
Acing these courses means navigating more than just content. You'll need to master the Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and Examinations (CBE) that FUTA employs, secure comfortable accommodations that support your study routine, and develop strategies to survive the admission process and academic pressures. You'll face time-pressured exams, dense problem sets, and the constant challenge of balancing three demanding courses simultaneously.
That's where LEGACY's MEGA Marathon Tutorial Program comes in. We don't just teach syllabi—we teach you how to think like a mathematician, a physicist, and a chemist. Our experienced tutors have walked the FUTA path themselves. They know the exam patterns, understand where students typically struggle, and have the strategies that transform confusion into confidence.
The MEGA Marathon isn't a sprint—it's a calculated, strategic journey to excellence. Your foundation courses set the tone for everything that follows. Make them count.
