This policy explains how LEGACY by Gabriel collects, uses, discloses, stores, and protects your information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA 2023) and best practices for educational platforms.
LEGACY by Gabriel (“LEGACY”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a student-led platform that provides academic and career resources for students, aspirants, and alumni. LEGACY is independent and not officially affiliated with FUTA. By using our services (“Services”), you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms & Conditions.
A. You Provide: name, email, department/faculty, graduation year (if provided), content uploads (Core Library), posts/comments, messages, preferences (e.g., planner, notifications).
B. Collected Automatically: usage data (pages, actions, timestamps), device/browser info, approximate location by IP, cookies/identifiers (see Section 10).
C. Children’s Data: LEGACY may be used by users under 18; data is minimized and protected with additional safeguards (Section 12).
We do not sell personal data.
We share data with service providers (hosting, CDN, analytics, email, payments, security) under confidentiality and data protection obligations; with authorities where required by law; and with the community when you publish content (e.g., display name on posts).
If data is processed or stored outside Nigeria, we apply appropriate safeguards consistent with NDPA (e.g., contractual clauses and adequacy assessments).
Subject to law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability (where applicable), or object to certain processing. You may withdraw consent at any time for non-essential processing.

We use HTTPS, access controls, least-privilege, monitoring, and periodic reviews. No method is 100% secure. If a breach likely to risk your rights occurs, we will notify affected users and, where required, the NDPC within the statutory period. Report incidents to gabriel@legacybygabriel.com.

You are responsible for what you upload or post. Do not share copyrighted content without permission. We may remove unlawful content and restrict accounts that violate laws or our Terms. Report infringement via gabriel@legacybygabriel.com with proof and links.
We minimize data for minors and, where required, obtain verifiable parental/guardian consent for non-essential processing. Parents/guardians may request access or deletion by emailing gabriel@legacybygabriel.com.
Our Services may link to or embed third-party tools (e.g., YouTube Learning, external resources). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Review their terms before use.
For premium features (e.g., Momentum), payments are processed by trusted providers under strict security standards. We do not store full card details on our servers.
We use basic analytics and scoring (e.g., ExamSphere performance, leaderboards) to provide insights. These do not produce legal or similarly significant effects. You may request human review where applicable.
By accessing LEGACY from outside Nigeria, you understand your data may be processed in Nigeria and/or other jurisdictions with safeguards as described in Section 6.
We may update this Policy to reflect legal, technical, or operational changes. The “Effective Date” will be updated, and material changes will be notified on-site or by email.
