About the Department

The Department of Project Management Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), within the School of Logistics and Innovation Technology, is dedicated to developing highly competent project management professionals capable of planning, organizing, executing, and controlling complex projects. Our department trains managers who integrate strategic thinking, technical expertise, and leadership to deliver projects successfully within time, budget, and quality constraints.

Project Management is the discipline of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing work to accomplish specific business objectives. Our comprehensive curriculum integrates project planning and scheduling, cost management and budgeting, resource management, risk management, quality management, stakeholder communication, procurement management, and project governance. Students develop expertise in applying PMBOK standards, using project management tools and software, analyzing project data, managing diverse teams, and delivering value within organizational and stakeholder expectations.

The department features modern project management laboratories, simulation facilities, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and partnerships with leading organizations. We maintain active collaborations with construction firms, manufacturing companies, technology firms, government agencies, and international organizations, providing students with opportunities to gain practical experience in real project environments and contribute to addressing complex project management challenges.
