About the Department

The Department of Logistics and Transport Technology (LTT) at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), within the School of Logistics and Innovation Technology (SLIT), is dedicated to developing skilled professionals who can manage complex supply chain operations, optimize transportation networks, and lead logistics innovations in the modern global economy. The department focuses on integrating business management principles with practical logistics and transport technologies to create efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable supply chain systems.

Logistics and Transport Technology is a strategic business discipline that encompasses supply chain management, transport and fleet operations, warehouse and inventory management, distribution network design, materials handling, and logistics information systems. Our comprehensive curriculum covers logistics fundamentals, supply chain planning and control, transport management, warehousing operations, inventory management, customer service, information systems for logistics, procurement and supplier management, and logistics cost optimization. Students develop expertise in designing efficient supply chains, managing transport fleets, optimizing warehouse operations, and leveraging technology for logistics excellence.

Admission Requirements

UTME Requirements

  • Minimum UTME score as set by JAMB
  • Subject combination: English Language, Mathematics, and any two of Economics, Geography, Government, Business Studies, or Science subjects
  • Five O'Level credits in not more than two sittings
  • Credits must include: English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects

Direct Entry Requirements (200 Level)

  • Two A'Level passes in relevant subjects (Economics, Business Studies, etc.)
  • ND in Logistics, Transport, Business Administration with minimum Upper Credit
  • HND in relevant field with Lower Credit or higher
  • Plus O'Level requirements as stated above
