The Department of Information Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) is a dynamic academic unit within the School of Computing (SOC), committed to educating IT professionals capable of implementing, maintaining, and managing modern information technology infrastructure. Our department focuses on practical IT skills development, combining software knowledge with hardware expertise to produce technicians and administrators ready for the competitive IT industry.
Information Technology encompasses the practical application of computing systems, networking, hardware management, and user support. Our comprehensive curriculum covers computer hardware fundamentals, networking technologies, operating systems, web technologies, IT infrastructure management, database basics, cybersecurity essentials, and user support services.
